About Racktime

Racktime is a German subsidiary of Tubus and is renowned for manufacturing luggage racks made of lightweight and robust aluminium wire, unlike those of Tubus made of steel. The two companies have voluntarily kept separate denominations in order to mark the differences in the design of their products.

Snap-it Fixation

SnapIt is an ingenious fastening system for bicycle panniers developed by Racktime.

The bag is securely and strongly attached to the luggage rack tray with just one click. Suitable for loads up to 12 kg.

  • Compatible with wide or narrow trays (from 2012 model)
  • The bag is positioned using a 4-pin system
  • The bag is detached from the luggage rack at the touch of a button

An optional key lock system can be used as an anti-theft device.

Our shop offers a range of VAUDE bags compatible with Snapit.

Bikes with disc brakes

Mounting a carrier on a bicycle equipped with disc brakes can be problematic.

The rear brake caliper attached on the seat stay and not on the rear wheel fork will surely interfere with the luggage carrier foot.

Two solutions are possible:

  • move the luggage rack foot outwards by a set of washers and spacers (a few mm at most, otherwise the screws will be weakened)
  • move the luggage rack backwards using offset tabs

Bicycles without eyelets

It is possible to attach a luggage rack to a bicycle without eyelets on the frame.

A quick-release adapter can be used on the rear wheel axle.

At the stay stays, if the frame is not in carbon, clampsets can be used.
